M-I-E created two stings for Bacardi through Red Bee Media. They will be used in their upcoming brand films for True Originals.

For the overall style of the sequence, the client asked us to take inspiration from the famous 19th century japanese print “The Great Wave off Kanagawa” by Hokusai, and also from one of our own films, “Lucky”.
We used these references to develop the original artwork for the storyboard in a mainly monochrome palette.

We pitched for the Editors track ‘Eat Raw Meat’. We didn’t win it, but here are the style frames we put forward.

…and some sketches. You may notice the boy’s face is different from the final promo. His features were changed to make the character appeal to a more adult audience.
